The District and SEL Hires
In May of 2021, the district created a brand new position - "Care Coordinator." This person will be responsible for the entire district's mental health programs. See below article (or click here) announcing this position featured on Cleveland.com.
BAY VILLAGE, Ohio -- During the month of May -- National Mental Health Month -- the Bay Village City School District has expanded its mental health services with a newly created position: care coordinator. The position is funded by a federal grant.

“This is the perfect time to announce that Bay Village Schools has expanded the district’s mental health services with a newly created care coordinator position,” according to a district spokesperson. “This federal, grant-funded role will be held by Megan Basel, who currently serves as a counselor at Normandy (Elementary School).”

Basel will leave her counselor position this summer to coordinate care and serve both staff and families full time for the entire district’s school-based mental health program.

“My role will be to help build a fully collaborative mental health service system,” Basel said. “A big portion of it will be promoting a continuum of support services.”
